How do licensees and certificate holders renew their licenses and certificates?
According to Title 49 Pa. Code 33.105; Licenses and certificates are renewable for a 2-year period beginning April 1 of each odd-numbered year. As a condition of biennial renewal, commencing with the 2001-2003-renewal period, licensees and certificate holders shall maintain current certification in infant, child and adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation and continuing education requirements specified in the regulations (relating to continuing dental education). Licensees and certificate holders shall certify their compliance with this subsection when renewing their licenses on and after April 1, 2001. Courses for certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) shall be substantially similar in content to the CPR courses offered by the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross and have a similar renewal period.
