Pennsylvania Dental Association Dental Identification Team
PADIT was conceived shortly after the First National Symposium on Dentistry's Role and Responsibility in Mass Disaster Identification in 1986. The consensus of the sypmposium was that it is essential that each state dental association organize, train and support a state dental identification disaster team. The disaster team would provide dental identification services to coroners, medical examiners and law enforcement agencies on an emergency basis.
PADIT is a highly skilled group of forensic dentists who are trained in mass disaster identification. PADIT members are on-call through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) 24-hour Watch Desk in Harrisburg and will be at the disaster site within 12-24 hours of notice.More Information >>
