Like all patients, those covered under MA must clearly understand that
dental care is a benefit provided by dentists who are working to help
them. We must have mutual respect for one another.
recommended rules that all patients/parents/guardians should follow,

- The dental office must
be able to reach the patient/parent/guardian (by telephone or email as
well as a family member) in case of emergency.
- In the case of a
patient under age 18 (except emancipated minors like a teenage mom
bringing in her child for care), a legal guardian must be present
for appropriate consult regarding treatment and for proper informed
- The health history given must be complete and accurate.
Any medical evaluations or consultations requested by the dentist must
be completed prior to any dental treatment.
