There was a Executive Board Meeting on Monday, January 28, 2013. The meeting was held in the North Conference Room at the PDA Central Office in Harrisburg. See minutes for more information.
2013 Fifth District Workbook Session in preparation for the PDA Annual Session
Prior to the PDA House of Delegates, all delegation members and invitees will gather to discuss the resolutions before the House as well as any resolutions the district may decide to submit for consideration. The session will be held starting at 6 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Four Points Sheraton located at 800 East Park Drive in Harrisburg, (717) 561-2800.
2013 PDA Annual Session
The Fifth District will be represented in 2013 by 12 delegates and 12 alternate delegates elected from the six local societies: Cumberland Valley, Hanover-Gettysburg, Harrisburg Area, Mifflin-Juniata, York and Lancaster. The Fifth District representatives to the PDA House of Delegates were formally elected at the Fifth District Annual meeting in September 2012.
The Fifth District also sends one delegate to the ADA Annual Session as well as nominating other Fifth District members for election for ADA at-large delegate and ADA alternate delegate positions as specified within the PDA Bylaws. This election for the ADA occurs during the PDA Annual Session in April.
The 2013 PDA Annual Session will be held Friday, April 26 through Saturday, April 27 at the Hotel Hershey. The hotel phone number is (717) 533-2171, website: www.thehotelhershey.com. All delegates and alternate delegates must register. Please visit the Annual Session page on the PDA website under "Events" then select "Annual Session" for all the up-to-date information and the registration form.
This year, there will be an opportunity for CE on Thursday, April 26, sponsored by International College of Dentists (ICD) District 3. Then on April 28 and April 29th, the PA Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons will be hosting their spring scientific program. Please consider attending these great offerings. Registration for the ICD sponsored CE can be done on the PDA website. Registration for the Oral Surgery CE can be done following the directions posted on the PDA website Annual Session page.

PDA Leadership Conference
A PDA Leadership Conference was held in July 2012. This conference was for district and local presidents and presidents-elects or other designated officers. This year, discussion centereed a new format for leadership governance. PDA will provided support for one president-elect from any local or district. Much of the discussion centered around teh concept contained in the book "Race for Relevance" 5 RAdical Changes for Associations by Ms. Mary Byers. The meeting also included all members of the Governance Task Force and the Board of Trustees.
