District Annual Meetings

The following is a list of the scheduled dates for the Fifth District’s annual meetings.  Please ensure that your local meetings do not conflict per the Bylaws. Please use the Upcoming Meetings link, below, for the latest information on Fifth District meetings.

2010 PDA Annual Session

The Fifth District was represented in 2010 by 17 delegates and 16 alternate delegates elected from the six local societies: Cumberland Valley, Hanover-Gettysburg, Harrisburg Area, Mifflin-Juniata, York, Lancaster. The Fifth District representatives to the PDA House of Delegates will be elected at the Fifth District Annual meeting in September. For 2011, the Fifth District will be sending 12 delegates and 12 alternate delegates to the PDA House.

The Fifth District also sends one delegate to the ADA Annual Session as well as nominating other Fifth District members for election for ADA at-large delegate and ADA alternate delegate positions as specified within the PDA Bylaws. This election for the ADA occurs during the PDA Annual Session in April.

The PDA Annual Session was held Thursday, April 23 through Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Hotel Hershey. The hotel phone number is (717) 533-2171 and it is on the web at www.thehotelhershey.com. Delegates for 2010 were: Dr.'s James Barclay, Bob Berstecher, James Boyle III, Marianna Clougherty, Mike Eckhart, C.J. Foer, Steve Grater, Josh Greenberg, John Grimes, John Kiessling, Ross Kline, Craig Pate, Jason Phillips, Sam Selcher, John Weierbach, Eric Weiss, and Kirk Zeger.

Alternate Delegates for 2010 were: Drs. John Backof, Brian Bowser, Ben Chikes, John Cooper Jr., Mike Denning, Andy Gould, G.L. Hamm, Dan Hengst, Margot Kusienski, Dan Laux, Walter Maust Jr., Harry Meyers, Jayantilal Patel, Eric Shirley, Warren Silvers III and Charles Stoup Jr.

2010 Fifth District Workbook Session

Was held on Wednesday, March 31 at 6 p.m. at the Four Points Sheraton located at 800 East Park Drive in Harrisburg, (717) 561-2800.

PDA Leadership Conference

The next PDA Leadership Conference is tentatively planned for 2011. This conference is for district and local presidents and presidents-elects or other designated officers. Information to follow from PDA. Watch the PDA Journal and the PDA website for the latest information.

Fifth Distict By-laws and Constitution and Proposed By-Laws Changes

At the 2009 Fifth District Annual meeting, the following changes to the current Fifth District By-laws were presented. They will be brought up under old business at the 2010 annual meeting and voted upon then. Please use this long interim time to discuss the proposed changes in order to expedite the business meeting in September 2010.
