Welcome to the New Dentist section of the PDA website. Being a new dentist can be challenging at times. The New Dentist Committee (NDC) has compiled some information that should be of significant assistance to you as you begin your career in dentistry. Please browse through the information presented in this section, and direct any questions to the membership department at (800) 223-0016.     

New Dentist Committee 

The NDC identifies and addresses the needs and concerns of new dentists and makes recommendations to appropriate leadership. Currently, the chair of the NDC serves as a consultant on the Board of Trustees.
 

New Dentist Receptions

Receptions are held twice a year at locations throughout the state where new dentist members, non-members and PDA leaders enjoy drinks, appetizers and conversation. View photos from past receptions and upcoming dates.

Placement Service

PDA’s Placement Service is a members-only, web-based job search assistance program that matches dentists seeking posi­tions with dentists providing positions. It is a free, on-line service.

Statewide Mentoring Program

The Statewide Mentoring Program matches new dentists and dental students with volunteer mentors throughout the Pennsylvania. Complete a Mentee Form to be matched with a mentor in your area.

Government Relations

PDA's Government Relations Committee monitors and reports on more than 5,000 bills introduced in the General Assembly and their movement through committee to the House and Senate floors. PDA also actively maintains working relationships with state agencies such as the departments of Health, Public Welfare, Insurance and Environmental Protection.

Getting Involved

There is no better way to support the dental profession than becoming actively involved in your PDA membership. PDA members can get involved in many ways, including donating supplies to a local clinic, providing treatment to a needy child or joining a PDA committee, task force or initiative to help achieve the goals of organized dentistry.
