2014 PDA Annual Session
The 146th PDA Annual Session was held April 25-26, 2014, at the Hotel Hershey.
The 146th PDA Annual Session was a historic one. The House of Delegates continued what has been a multi-year process of governance restructuring by adopting Bylaws changes that will reshape PDA. The biggest change is the elimination of the House of Delegates. In essence, to implement the governance changes that were passed in 2013, the House needed to adopt the Bylaws changes with a two-thirds majority. With the elimination of the House, PDA will now be governed by the 10 members of the Board of Trustees in consultation with a newly formed Council of Presidents.
Another significant change will be a new format for our Annual Session. It will no longer be a governance meeting dominated by the business of the House of Delegates. The new annual meeting will be open to all PDA members and will feature continuing education, stakeholder information, camaraderie and plenty of fun activities. At this point, it is uncertain exactly what the 2015 meeting will look like, but stay tuned and be on the lookout for more information on PDA’s new governance model in weeks ahead.
