What led you to decide that this was the year you wanted to volunteer for office (PDA Officer or ADA Trustee) or volunteer to attend the ADA and represent the PDA (ADA Delegate or Alternate)?
I have always been involved in the ADA to some degree. Now, I have reached the point in my life where I am able to give organized dentistry more of my time and energy.
What is your specific area of interest within organized dentistry?
My main focus is communication. Dialog between the ADA and its membership as well as reaching out to non-member dentists is essential. Without being heard we risk going “quietly into the night”.
What is the main issue you see facing the ADA or PDA or Dentistry in general?
I believe the organization is facing a great challenge as more members retire and young dentists fail to join. We must find our voice if we want to the ADA be the face of dentistry in America.
List experience that you have that you feel prepares you for this position.
As a practice owner, dental columnist, former radio talk show host and long time ADA member, I bring a wealth of communication and leadership skills to the position.
Why should you receive my vote?
I am asking for your support – because I want to serve. If elected I will serve diligently and to the very best of my ability.
