Candidate for ADA Delegate

Dr. Ronald K. Heier

What led you to decide that this was the year you wanted to volunteer for office (PDA Officer or ADA Trustee) or volunteer to attend the ADA and represent the PDA (ADA Delegate or Alternate)?

I wish to ensure the ADA is spending our dues wisely and has the data to prove that its programs are benefiting members.

What is your specific area of interest within organized dentistry?

Increasing member value so PDA and ADA remain relevant. We must see the value of public relations and marketing, government affairs, practice success, access to care and New Dentist programs.

What is the main issue you see facing the ADA or PDA or Dentistry in general?

Infringement of insurance carriers in treatment and decreased reimbursement to dentists and patients. Dentists are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat.

List experience that you have that you feel prepares you for this position.

PDA Trustee and ADA Delegate for 7 years. ADA Council Member. Volunteer Chair of MOM-n-PA gives me insight into access to care issues which impact all of us.

Why should you receive my vote?

Experienced at all levels of organized dentistry. I am interested in both dentist and patient concerns in maintaining dentistry as an esteemed profession.
