Candidate for ADA Delegate

Dr. Jay R. Wells, III

What led you to decide that this was the year you wanted to volunteer for office (PDA Officer or ADA Trustee) or volunteer to attend the ADA and represent the PDA (ADA Delegate or Alternate)?

As in past years, I want to be of service to my fellow members, many of whom are unable to devote time and effort to organizational activities.

What is your specific area of interest within organized dentistry?

I have always been interested in advocacy - working to achieve Dentistry's objectives in the State Legislature and Federal Congress.

What is the main issue you see facing the ADA or PDA or Dentistry in general?

The inability to attract the many non-member dentists is an issue that affects the ADA and all of the State Dental Organizations.

List experience that you have that you feel prepares you for this position.

A life time of membership in the ADA starting with my Air Force days and active participation in local, state and national dental affairs has been good preparation.

Why should you receive my vote?

I continue to endeavor to work toward the betterment of dental care for our patients and for the increasing standards for our profession.
