SUMMARY:Dental Trauma-Practices for Immediate and Long-Term Care
DESCRIPTION:This course\, originally scheduled for 9/3\, will be held on Wednesday\, November 19\, 2025.\nDental Trauma–Practices for Immediate and Long-Term Care \n6 CE credits appropriate for dentists\, assistants and EFDAs\nEducation Method: powerpoint\, lecture\, case studies and discussion \nInjuries to the teeth can occur at any age and clinicians need to be prepared to administer appropriate emergency treatment while focusing on the long-term esthetic\, function and health of the oral cavity.  Using case scenarios\, Dr. Ray will discuss the diagnosis and clinical management of crown fractures\, horizontal intra-alveolar root fractures\, luxations and avulsions for both the adult and pediatric patient. Dr. Ray also will discuss the prevention and management of complications after trauma.\nPresented by Herbert L. Ray\, Jr.\, DMD\, who is in a private practice with his sister\, Dr. Heidi Ray\, and is an associate professor in the Endodontic Department at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. \nAt the end of the course\, participants should be able to:\n– assess a trumatic injury to the teeth\n– manage different types of traumatic injuries to mature and immature teeth\n– address complications such as root resorption \n \n\n\n\n Date: \n Rescheduled to Wednesday\, November 19\, 2025\n\n\n Time:\n\n9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.\nRegistation opens at 8:30 a.m.\n\n\n Location: \n\nGeisinger Medical Center\, Henry Hood Center\nSnacks provided; meals are on your own\n\n\n Fees: \n\n$145 – PDA/ADA member dentists\n$0 – PDA Retired/Life member dentists\n$245 – Non-member dentists\n$85 – Non-dentist dental team\n\n\n CE Credits: \n 6 CE credits for dentists\, hygienists\, assistants and EFDAs\n\n\n\n\nOnline registration is available to PDA member dentists and non-dentist dental team members. ADA members residing outside PA\, non-member dentists and dental team members attending without a dentist will need a username and password so contact PDA before you register.
