PDA Voices Opposition to Delta Dental Fee

PDA sent a letter to Delta Dental, strongly opposing its new policy to charge participating dentists a $15/week administrative fee for processing paper checks for claims payments. 

We reminded Delta about Pennsylvania’s law (Act 58 of 2024) giving dentists the freedom to choose their preferred payment method without unnecessary or unreasonable administrative fees. We also argued that many dentists choose paper checks because this method simplifies the audit trail and reduces complications with payment reconciliation. Furthermore, some dentists may not be in a financial or administrative position to transition to an electronic funds transfer or virtual credit card system.
