This lecture will demonstrate a simplified method of restoring the fractured maxillary anterior central incisor with composite resin using the intraoral composite mock-up technique creating an imperceptible restoration. The lecture also will demonstrate step by step how to place posterior composites quickly and easily so that an aesthetic result with a high success rate and predictable outcome can be achieved.\nAttendees can expect to be able to:\n— Use a simplified method to restore the fractured maxillary anterior central incisor with composite resin and create an imperceptible restoration.\n— Incorporate a simplified unishade composite system in your practice.\n— Place sensitivity-free posterior composites quickly with sealed sub-gingival margins.\n— Use high-strength\, low-wear injectable composite to treat incisal and occlusal wear.\n— Place composite in cervical (abfraction) lesions so they do not fall out.\n— Predictably cement all Zirconia restorations.\n— Learn many clinical tips and advanced skills in anterior and posterior composite placement that will promote your practice.\n\n \nPresented by Robert D. Marus\, DDS\, AAACD\, FICD\, who is one of 5 dentists in PA to receive accreditation by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. SUMMARY:Drug Interactions\, Radiation Safety and HIPAA Compliance
DESCRIPTION:Three Serious Drug Interactions PLUS Radiation Safety and HIPAA Compliance \n6 CE credits appropriate for dentists\, hygienists\, assistants and EFDAs.\nEducation Method: powerpoint\, lecture and discussion \nRadiation Safety – This course meets the training requirements for every dental x-ray operator as outlined in Pennsylvania Code\, Title 25\, Section 221.11.\nHIPAA in the Dental Office – This course covers the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the requirements that dental offices have under that Act.\nPresented by Autumn Bupp\, manager of the Western PA branch of Clym Environmental Services\, where she oversees the areas of compliance\, medical waste management\, and confidential document destruction. Serious drug interactions may occur in the dental patient because of drugs the dentist prescribes or administers. The dentist may also experience adverse drug interactions from medications they are taking for various medical conditions. their associated vasoconstrictors have had a long history of safety and efficacy in dental practice. However\, pediatric dental patients are especially vulnerable to overdose reactions with this group of drugs. The speaker will illustrate how to perform these dosage calculations including “The Rule of 25.” A potentially serious drug interaction between epinephrine containing local anesthetic solutions and non-selective beta-adrenergic blocking agents also will be highlighted. Research evaluating the efficacy and safety of phentolamine mesylate will be discussed along with the limitations of the intranasal tetracaine plus oxymetazoline mist.\nPresented by Elliot V. Hersh\, DMD\, MS\, PhD\, Professor of Pharmacology/Oral Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
