PDA Annual Award Recipients Selected
The PDA Annual Awards Committee is pleased to honor Dr. Judith
A. McFadden, a general dentist from Philadelphia, with the 2010
PDA Distinguished Service Award. Always
ready to serve organized dentistry with her exemplary leadership skills,
Dr. McFadden has made countless contributions to PDA, ADA and the
Philadelphia County Dental Society for more than two decades. She served
as editor of the Pennsylvania Dental Journal for eight
highly-successful years and as delegate/alternate delegate to
PDA’s House of Delegates nearly every year since 1992. A positive
role model for young dentists, she has earned the respect of her
colleagues at the local, state and national levels. Congratulations, Dr.
McFadden.
The Annual Awards Committee also is pleased to honor Dr. Philip T.
Siegel, a pediatric dentist and orthodontist (only approximately 35
dentists nationwide have this dual certification) from Fort Washington,
with the 2010 PDA Public Service Award. As a
practitioner, educator and author, Dr. Siegel continually shows his
unwavering commitment to the profession and improving the oral health of
citizens across the commonwealth, including his tireless efforts to
increasing their access to care. He is a member of the State Board of
Dentistry, as well as a faculty and staff member at Episcopal Hospital,
Temple University’s Children’s Medical Center, the Medical
College of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania.
Congratulations, Dr. Siegel.
Both recipients will be recognized at PDA's 142nd Annual Session in
April.
