DEA MATE Act Training: Dental Implications of Substance Use Disorders (SUDs)

Six CE credits recommended for dentists, hygienists, assistants and EFDAs.
Course offered by an ADA CERP recognized provider toward fulfillment of the one-time 8 hours of training required by the DEA. Through the educational methods of lecture, power point, discussion and extensive handouts, attendees can expect to learn developments in neurophysiology and treatment of common substance use disorders; the oral effects and dental treatment ramifications for patients who frequently use cannabinoids; strategies for opioid-sparing analgesia in dental practice, and effective pain relief alternatives based on individual patient characteristics.
Presented by Karen A. Baker, MS, Director of Dental Pharmacy and Associate Professor in the Dept. of Oral Pathology, Radiology and Medicine at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

CE Credits:
6 continuing education credits for dentists, hygienists, assistants and EFDAs. Credit hours can be applied to one-time DEA 8 hour requirement.

Cancellation policy: A refund, less a 10% administrative fee, will be issued if the registration is cancelled in writing seven days prior to the program you are attending. Refunds are not issued for no shows.

ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.

If the name of your guest is not displayed enter their name, designation (RDH, EFDA), a unique email address and click Save & Close.
